Absolutely love this Japanese sushi bar for many many years. Sushi always fresh, great quality & price. Teriyaki steak & dynamite lobster roll is delicious. Always get the spicy garlic edamame.

This is a small but quant Japanese restaurant. I've seem this place get very busy because it's very popular with the locals. Their food is delicious and they serve other things that are not on the menu. You may just have to get that info from someone whites been going there for years though... They have limited hours, so I would check before you go, don't plan this last minute, earlier you go the better off you are.

Update 10/15/25 Really good sushi place in the 626. Definitely better as you go west, but if you can’t make it to Pasadena or LA, nice spot to get your fix. Lunch specials and bento boxes are really good values. Will be back soon! —— Update 9/22/23 Definitely still recommending this place but had to round down based on my latest visit. Two dishes that didn’t live up to my last visit were the cold noodles and Kalbi ribs. The cold noodles had a different flavor and texture to the broth. Good, just not as good as I recall. Not a deal breaker. The Kalbi ribs were even more disappointing. Fatty and chewy. On the positive side, the two new dishes we tried were awesome. Jjajang mien, which was sold out las time was amazing. Great flavors, actually had meat which some places stopped adding, and was a very large serving. No wonder they sell out! Also tried the soon tofu soup which was equally amazing in flavors, meat ratio and portion size. Definitely must tries. Service and self service banchan was still great. Almost makes up for the self service pick up and clean up :) ———— One of the few legit, Japanese run and owned sushi restaurants around. Appreciate the quality of the seafood and daily specials. I used to complain about the attitude and service, but that is now a thing of the past. Service was friendly and efficient during times of Covid. Nothing was missing from our order and everything tasted fantastic. Should not have waited so long to come back. Will be part of my regular rotation now that we have rediscovered this place.

We’ve been coming here for nearly two decades, and Yashima definitely offers some of the freshest sushi around. It’s almost as fresh as Sugarfish, our absolute favorite—but Sugarfish is so expensive and quite a drive for us. Yashima has had the same sushi chefs for years, and they are incredibly dedicated to preparing the best dishes. The servers are always amazing too! We visit two to three times a month and occasionally order takeout. Joe always gets the Chirashi, and sometimes adds unagi, halibut, or yellowtail. I love ordering the yellowtail carpaccio, halibut, unagi, and fried oysters. They used to serve Yosenabe and were the only restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley that offered it. I really hope they reconsider bringing it back—it was such a standout dish!
